In the past 2,000 years, the number of readings in worship varied. Most Anglican churches today include the Old Testament, the Psalm, the New Testament and the Gospel lessons in each service because the Church believes that every part of the Bible is important. Our reading arrangement, Lectionary, is based on a three year cycle.
